The rolling dome has a full 120VAC and 12VDC system, driven by two 6V 212Ah deep-cycle lead-acid batteries. The batteries are installed under the floor in an angle-steel bracket. The batteries are isolated with a high-amperage weather-resistant circuit breaker. They are connected to a 3 KW inverter at 120VAC 60Hz, a 70-Amp. shore line charger with remote monitor, and a 12-volt, 24-position power distribution panel.
In practice, this proved sufficient to power several accessories, including
- three compact-fluorescent bulbs
- the XBooth photo booth cube
- 4-channel audio amplifier with MP3 input and volume control
- switched halogen headlights, marker and tail lights
- air horn on relay switch
- 3 switched electroluminescent (EL) wire inverters and connectors
The 70-amp charger (typically used in RVs) pushes power into the deep-cycle batteries over 2-3 hours, sufficient to be driven by the RV's generator or shore power.
